Dear Green Wave Fans,
On Saturday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m., your Tulane Green Wave football team takes on Georgia Tech in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPNews.
Get used to seeing the Green Wave on national TV.
In 10 days Tulane becomes an official member of the American Athletic Conference. This conference last year won a BCS bowl game, both the men's and women's NCAA National Championships in basketball, and placed a team in the NCAA Baseball World Series. No other conference can say that.
An added benefit to joining this incredibly competitive conference is the national exposure our programs, university and city will receive. Every conference football and men's basketball game will be aired on national TV on the ESPN family of networks, with one game a week in football sublicensed to CBS College. In addition, every home football and men's basketball non-conference game will be on national television, or ESPN3, and all games will be available online via the Watch ESPN app. Tulane fans around the world will now be able to watch more games than ever.
Today four of our games for the upcoming season were released:
- At Tulsa at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 (CBS College)
- Georgia Tech at Yulman Stadium on Sept. 6 at 3 p.m. (ESPNews)
- Southeastern Louisiana at Yulman Stadium on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
- Cincinnati at Yulman Stadium on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
I can't imagine what our students and fans have in store for Halloween night! Kickoff times for the remainder of the season will likely be decided 12 days prior to the game; however, if we hear anything earlier, we will pass it along.
Season ticket sales continue to be strong with less than 4,000 season tickets remaining. If you still need tickets visit YulmanStadium.com or call (504) 861-WAVE (9283). Those who have already ordered will receive a detailed letter in the next couple of weeks outlining the very user-friendly process of selecting their seats, which will begin Monday, July 14.
As always, Roll Wave!
