NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's tennis duo Idan Mark and Joe Young earned an 88th doubles ranking in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) poll release last week.

"It's an honor for these guys to get national recognition for their great results this year," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "They have truly developed from their freshman year through hard work and belief in themselves."

Mark and Young posted a 21-9 overall record playing together in 2011-12, including a 14-6 dual match record in the spring. The duo also strung together a run of 10 straight wins during the spring season and won 11 of their last 12 matches, including an upset of the then-sixth ranked pair of Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling of Tulsa in the final regular season match.

"It's always nice to see some proof for the growth of our program," Booras added. "In just our third year back we received some national team recognition by jumping in the rankings and getting as high as 63 at one point of the semester and individually we saw Idan Mark in the singles and/or doubles national rankings every year he has played for us."

The pair helped guide Tulane to its first national team ranking since 2005 and the program's first winning record since the same year. The Green Wave completed the 2012 season with a 12-11 mark.

"The key now will be using this experience and growth we've seen to take our team to the next level and to continue recruiting players that will help us move further forward," Booras said.
