NEW ORLEANS - After putting together a seven match winning streak, the Tulane men's tennis team earned its way back into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings, sitting at No. 55 in the poll released on Tuesday.
The Green Wave (11-5, 2-1 C-USA) received an average of 12.47 points in the poll, the highest rankings since the 2005 season.
"This is a great honor for us and indicative of the direction we are taking our program," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "To be in the rankings like this in just our fourth year back shows how all of the hard work from these guys is paying off, and shows how much they want it. I'm really proud of our guys, but we're not done yet. We are inching closer toward our team goals for this year and will have to finish strong to reach them."
During Tulane's winning streak, the Green Wave defeated then-No. 57 Samford at home and then-No. 67 Cal Poly on their West Coast road trip.
Tulane closes out the California trip on Wednesday when they face the University of San Francisco at 1 p.m. CT.
