NEW ORLEANS - Having won three of the last four matches, the Tulane men's tennis team looks to keep rolling when they host UCF in the Conference USA opener on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT at the Goldring Tennis Center.
The Green Wave (3-3) most recently defeated Texas-San Antonio, 4-3, last Sunday. A double header sweep of Jacksonville State and Xavier (NO) on Jan. 28th opened the five-match homestand.
"It has been a good week of practice of us as we go into our first conference match," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "It is great timing the way the guys are turning things around and I think it is going to pay great dividends throughout this semester. We are looking forward to putting all the hard work to the test with a great match against UCF."
UCF (2-1) is making its first road trip of the season after having defeated Jacksonville and Georgia Southern in Orlando. The loss came to Wake Forest in the season-opener. The Knights will face UL-Lafayette on Saturday to begin the road swing.
Adam Bernstein leads Tulane with a 3-2 dual match record, including three straight wins. Bernstein is 3-1 on court four this spring, while Idan Mark is also 3-2 with a 2-0 record on court two. The double pair of Bernstein and Takuma Ohashi are 3-0 this spring.
Jorge Blasco is a perfect 3-0 for UCF on court one in singles, while Mario Samson is also 3-0, having won two on court three.
The Green Wave will travel down I-10 Wednesday for take on No. 28 LSU at 5 p.m. CT.
