NEW ORLEANS - The 68TH-ranked Tulane men's tennis team gets the 2014 spring dual season underway with a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. CT when they face Jackson State with a match against Alcorn State following at 3:30 p.m. CT at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center.

Tulane is coming off a successful fall tournament schedule that saw the Green Wave roster post 31 wins, including six by freshman Jao Chi-Shan and five each from freshman Sabastian Rey and sophomore Dominik Koepfer.

"We are excited to get the spring season underway after having a very successful fall campaign," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "We hope to be able to build upon the success we had in the fall and carry that over into this dual season. Our young guys really played well and had some good results in the tournaments."

Chi-Shan earned a flight win at the Rice Invitational in September and the doubles team on Rey and Alex Van Cott defeated the sixth-ranked team in the nation at the UTSA/ITA Southern Regional in October. That win helped the Green Wave duo earn a preseason national ranking on 38th by the ITA.

Tulane posted a 12-8 dual match record last spring and earned a final national ranking on 69th by the ITA.

Following Sunday's doubleheader, the Green Wave will be back in action on Saturday when they host Troy at Noon at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center.
