HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Tulane men's tennis team won four of its six doubles matches Saturday as it completed the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg. The pairing of Rodrigo Rappaccioli and Joe Young and the tandem of Shaye Wali and Coby Kramer-Golinkoff each posted a pair of victories.

"I was really please with the way the guys rebounded this morning after a long tough day yesterday," head coach Mark Booras said. "They competed hard against very good competition and came out with four wins out of six matches."

Against UAB, Tulane freshmen Rodrigo Rappaccioli and Joe Young topped Alex Emery and Danny Manlow, 8-6 in No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Shaye Wali teamed with freshman Coby Kramer-Golinkoff for a No. 2 victory over Tyrone Ewels and Daniel Moser by an 8-2 score. Freshmen Adam Bernstein and Etham Frenkel fell to Dan Cornei and Thomas Petrich, 8-6.

In the late session, Tulane took on host USM as Rappaccioli and Young bested Diego Machuca and Markus Wessinghage, 8-4 in No. 1 doubles, while Wali and Kramer-Golinkoff took out Strate Krstevski and Oscar Machuca in the No. 2 slot, 8-2.

USM's Felipe Sylva teamed with William Carey's Anton Klochkov and the duo topped Bernstein and Frenkel by a score of 8-4 at the No. 3 position.

For the tournament, Tulane posted a 5-9 record in singles, and a 5-2 record in doubles. The team of Wali and Kramer-Golinkoff swept their three doubles matches on the weekend.
