Coach Klein Says: Plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand. Exceptionally fast with strong groundstrokes on both sides. Is not overpowering, but exhibits exceptional control. Very effective with returns - get out the lawn chair, you may have to stay around for a while.

Spring 2003:
Has notched an 11-6 record this spring, including 7-4 at No. 4 singles. Two of his losses came to nationally-ranked opponents. His No. 5 singles victory clinched the Green Wave win over Vanderbilt, currently ranked No. 6 in the nation. Also clinched the win over No. 30 San Diego State with a three-set triumph at No. 4.
DOUBLES: Has posted an 8-7 mark in pairs play this spring. Teamed with Jorge Lievano to clinch the doubles point against TCU in the C-USA Championship.

Fall 2002: Notched the best fall singles record on the team at 6-3, while also teaming with Hannu Piiroinen for a 3-1 mark in doubles action.

Spring 2001: The most improved player in the Green Wave lineup, compiled an impressive 15-3 singles mark. Earned third-team All-Conference USA honors as well as All-Louisiana recognition. Was 5-2 in doubles play when teaming with classmate Jorge Lievano.

Fall 2001: Registered a 6-5 fall record. Won a pair of matches in the second division of the Southern Intercollegiate, while also picking up a pair of wins in the consolation of the Ole Miss Classic.

Spring 2001: Notched a 12-11 record during the spring season. Was 2-0 in the C-USA Tournament with one match not completed as he keyed the Green Wave win.

Fall 2000: Posted a 4-3 record in singles action. Had two wins at the ITA Region III Championships, including an upset of No. 16 seed Jason Ontog from UT-Chattanooga, who was ranked No. 60 in the nation at the time. Teamed with Derya Rose for a 4-2 record in doubles competition.

Spring 2000: Logged a 9-8 record in singles action after joining the team in January. Was 7-6 at No. 5 singles. Also teamed with three partners for a 3-6 doubles mark. Was 3-3 at No. 2 doubles with Dennis Lundberg.

Prep: Attended the Katedraskolan School. Ranked as high as 10th in the Age 18 division among juniors in Sweden. Was the 1999 Swedish doubles champion. Reached the quarterfinals of the Swedish Championships in singles in 1991 and was a singles semifinalist in 1994. Was the Swedish Championships doubles runner-up in 1995 and was a semifinalist in 1993.

Personal: Born May 3, 1979. The son of Anders and Berit Westerberg. Has a younger brother Jonas. Earned Dean's List honors last spring and is majoring in business in the Freeman School of Business.
