Coach Klein Says: A battler who brings a great attitude to the team. I traveled to Columbia this past summer in hopes of finding more players like Lievano.

Spring 2003:
Owns an 8-12 spring record in the spring. After struggling to open the season, has now won three straight matches, including a pair of victories at the Conference USA Championship. Has a 5-6 mark at No. 5 singles.
DOUBLES: Has tallied a 7-10 mark in doubles play this spring. Teamed with Mattias Westerberg to clinch the doubles point against TCU in the C-USA Championship. Playing with Hannu Piiroinen, had an 8-5 win at third doubles to help the Wave to its upset victory over No. 6 Vanderbilt.

Fall 2002: Recorded a 1-3 record in singles action.

Spring 2002: Posted an impressive season, recording an 11-3 record at No. 4 singles and 17-5 overall, tying with Michael Kogan for the team lead in victories. Teamed with Hannu Piiroinen for a 10-7 mark in doubles play. Earned second team All-Louisiana recognition.

Fall 2001: Sat out the fall slate to concentrate on academics.

Spring 2001: Narrowly missed a selection to the Conference USA All-League team. Anchored the No. 4 slot in the rotation for the Wave with an 8-7 mark while also teaming with Victor Romero to compile a 13-4 mark at No. 3 doubles. Earned four points in the C-USA Tournament (one singles and three doubles).

Fall 2000: Did not compete. Joined the Green Wave in January of 2001.

Before Tulane: Played one season at North Greenville College (NAIA). Posted a 29-1 record in singles action and a 28-2 record in doubles. Earned a No. 9 NAIA national ranking in doubles.

Prep: Was ranked No. 1 in Colombia in U-18 singles, after being No. 2 at the U-12, U-14, and U-16 levels. Also ranked No. 1 in doubles for U-12 through U-18. Ranked No. 4 in the Colombian professional rankings. Selected to play for the Colombian Davis Cup team against Puerto Rico in 1998.

Personal: Born April 8, 1978 in Bucaramanga, Columbia. The son of German and Graciela Lievano. Has two younger brothers and an older sister. Brother, Manuel, plays at the University of Minnesota. Majoring in business.
