Coach Klein says: "Magdy is going to be the first guy to step into the rotation for us if we need him. He is a very talented player with a heavy serve and forehand. With more match experience he will be very good; we're excited about his future."

Fall 2004: Opened his career at the Baylor Invitational, picking up a pair of wins in singles action. Closed the fall with a 3-4 record in singles and a 1-2 doubles mark.

Prep: Ranked in the Top 100 in the nation in his age group. Ranked as high as No. 4 in the Eastern Tennis Association. Went undefeated as a senior in high school tennis.

Personal: Born May 12, 1986 in Queens, N.Y. The son of Alaa El Mihdawy and Ingrid Hirschenbrunner. A National Merit Semifinalist at Stuyvesant High School. His grandfather played and coached professional soccer in Egypt. Plans to major in finance at Tulane.
