NEW ORLEANS - Tulane senior wide receiver JaJuan Dawson was selected as one of 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award.
Dawson, a 6-foot-1, 201-pound, native of Gibson, La., currently ranks third nationally in receptions per game (9.79), ninth in receiving yards per game (104.33), and 25th in all-purpose yardage (141.1). He has been ranked among the nation's leaders for the entire season.
On the year, Dawson has 88 catches for 939 yards and six touchdowns. Earlier this season, he set a Tulane, Conference USA and Louisiana Superdome record with 16 catches against SMU. Dawson is the first Tulane receiver to catch 80 passes in a season and holds the school record for career touchdown receptions (29). He also ranks second on the school's career receptions (226) and yardage list (2,936). Dawson has 14 100-yard receiving games in his career.
The Biletnikoff Award, presented annually by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club in Tallahassee, Fla., is given to the nation's top collegiate wide receiver.
