Tulane Coaches' Call-In Show
Head coach Chris Scelfo's Call-In Radio Show made its return on Monday evening, live from
Ponchatoula's in downtown Ruston, hosted by Sean Fox from KNBB-FM (ESPN Radio 99.3) in
Ruston. The show will air each Monday from 7-8 p.m. Coach Scelfo will take questions from
callers, review the previous week's game and preview the upcoming opponent.

Highlights of the Green Wave's previous game, comments from Scelfo on the upcoming
opponents, and player features can be seen each week on the Tulane football coaches'
television show. The show was scheduled to air on Cox Sports Television across the state each
Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. and again Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. though that schedule is currently
not fi nalized due to Hurricane Katrina.
Tulane/ISP Radio Network
Following Hurricane Katrina, Tulane's radio network has been modifi ed; unfortunately the
fl agship station, WTIX AM 690 in New Orleans is off the air indefi nitely. However, ISP Sports
has put together an eight-station network across Louisiana. Six-time Louisiana Sportscaster
of the Year Larry Matson returns to his Tulane roots to handle play-by-play duties while Todd
Graffagnini will handle the color analysis. Longtime color commentator Steve Barrios, a
Tulane Hall of Famer, has limited availability due to his full-time job as a State Farm insurance
agent.

Out-of-State Home
Tulane plays its fifth "home" game of the year on Saturday
- in its fifth diff erent stadium. In fact, the Green Wave is scheduled
to play 11 games in 11 stadiums this year. This Saturday's
game is being played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.,
the fi rst "home" game outside of the state of Louisiana. The
Wave is coming off back-to-back Friday night losses to UTEP
and UCF. The UCF game was played Friday for safety reasons
due to Hurricane Wilma's proximity to Florida. The Wave lost
that game, 34-24, as it was victimized by fi ve turnovers. Marshall,
meanwhile, comes into Saturday's game with a 3-4 record,
following a 31-3 loss to UTEP on the road.
Last Week's Leaders
Linebacker Anthony Cannon continues to pile up big
numbers for the Green Wave. In Friday's loss to UCF, the senior
posted 12 tackles, including a season-high 11 solo, to pace the
team defensively. On the other side of the ball, quarterback
Lester Ricard again surpassed 300 yards by completing 27-of-
44 passes for 360 yards, his fi fth career 300-yard passing game.
Senior Bubba Terranova posted his second straight 100-yard
receiving game with six catches for 109 yards, while Preston
Brown had three catches for 97 yards, including his fourth TD
grab of the season.
On the Run
Tulane evacuated New Orleans on Sunday, August 28th,
the day before Hurricane Katrina came to shore. After two days
sleeping on a gymnasium fl oor at Jackson State University
(including the last 30 hours without electricity), the team moved
on to Dallas to much plusher accommodations at a DoubleTree
hotel. On Sept. 12, the Wave made the move to its "home" for
the semester: Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
Finally Football
After arriving on the Tulane campus on August 9, the Green
Wave football team waited 39 days before hitting the fi eld for a
real game. Sixteen of those days were spent on the road fl eeing
Hurricane Katrina and its resulting destruction, before settling at Louisiana Tech University for the remainder of the season.
The September 17th opening day marked the latest opening
day for the Green Wave since the 1973 season when it debuted
against Boston College on Sept. 22 with a 21-16 victory in New
Orleans. Th at team fi nished the year 9-3 with the No. 20 ranking
in the nation.
11 in 11
The Green Wave will play 11 games in 11 diff erent stadiums
this year. Tulane's fi nal "home" football game was scheduled last
week as the Green Wave will host Tulsa at UL-Monroe's Malone
Stadium on Nov. 19. Th is weekend's Marshall game will mark
the seventh stadium of the year and then the Wave goes on the
road to play at Navy (Stadium #8) and at Rice (Stadium #9). In
1975, Southern Miss, with current head cach Jeff Bower at quarterback,
played 11 games in 11 stadiums due to the rebuilding of
its own stadium.
Ladd-Peebles
Tulane will be making its eighth appearance in Ladd-Peebles
Stadium and its 12th in Mobile. Th is will be the fi rst game in
Mobile for the Green Wave since a Sept. 9, 1965 loss to Alabama
(27-0). The Wave's overall record in Mobile is 4-7 (3-5 vs.
Alabama; 0-2 vs. Auburn; 1-0 vs. Spring Hill) while its record in
Ladd-Peebles is 3-5 (all games against Alabama).
Marshall Men
Tulane head coach Chris Scelfo was an assistant coach at
Marshall for six years (1990-95), helping the Th undering Herd
to four I-AA National Championship game appearances, including
a national title in 1992. He was the off ensive line coach for
his fi rst three years and the off ensive coordinator for the fi nal
three. In addition, Tulane off ensive line coach Don Mahoney
played at Marshall from 1987 to 1990, earning all-conference
honors as a senior captain in 1990. He also served as a graduate
assistant for two seasons, including the 1992 National Championship
campaign.
More Hurricane Headaches
The Tulane football schedule has suff ered damage from
three hurricanes this year. Katrina forced all six home games
to be moved to alternate sites as well as bumping the Southern
Miss road game from Sept. 4 to Nov. 26. Rita caused the SMU
game to be moved up from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. and Wilma necessitated
the moving of the UCF game from Saturday night (10/22)
to Friday (10/21). Th at makes nine Tulane games which have
been aff ected by hurricanes this season.
Ricard Wrestling Records
In the last two games, quarterback Lester Ricard has completed
56-of-99 passes for 736 yards and six touchdowns. He
now has fi ve 300-yard passing days (fourth all-time at Tulane),
including three this season. The junior has climbed onto many
career leader lists for the Green Wave this season - he now ranks
seventh all-time in passing yards (3,450) and touchdowns (34)
and eighth in pass attempts (493) and completions (283) at
Tulane.
Rolling Doubles on Defense
Senior linebacker Anthony Cannon registered 12 tackles (11
solo) in the loss to UCF on Friday, his fi fth double-fi gure tackle
game of the season and the 20th of his Green Wave career. Cannon,
who has registered 100+ tackles in each of his fi rst three
seasons, piled up a season-high 14 tackles in the Houston game.
The Stone Mountain, Ga., product has 389 career takedowns to
rank sixth all-time (three from moving into fi fth) for the Green
Wave. He has 206 solo stops; while his 183
assists rank third all-time for the Wave.
Touchdown Terranova
Entering this season, Bubba Terranova
had 33 catches for 426 yards and four touchdowns
in his career. In the fi rst six games of
2005, the senior has 28 catches for 430 yards
and four touchdowns. He has snared TDs
in four diff erent games and has also tallied
three 100-yard receiving games, the fi rst of
his career. On Friday against UCF, the New
Orleans native (from Slidell, La., a suburb),
had six catches for 109 yards. In the last two
games, he has 14 receptions for 212 yards.
First-Down Bubba
Not only is Bubba Terranova posting big numbers in receiving,
but the veteran wide receiver is making plays in crucial
situations. Of his eight catches in the UTEP game, fi ve were
third-down plays and another was a fourth-down conversion.
In the UCF game, all six of his catches went for fi rst downs. For
the season, Terranova has 13 catches on third down (11 for fi rst
downs), including all four of his touchdown receptions. He has
20 fi rst-down receptions total this year.
Turnover Turnaround
While the Green Wave has committed nine turnovers in the
last three games, the real crusher has been that its opponents
have not commited any turnovers in those games.
What Can Brown Do For You?
Wide receiver Preston Brown, who had not caught a pass
entering this season, has stepped into the role of Tulane's go-to
receiver in 2005. The junior has 30 receptions for 426 yards this
year to lead the team in both categories. In the Houston game,
he snagged a 13-yard Lester Ricard delivery for his fi rst career
touchdown and he followed that up with a pair of TD catches
against UTEP. Against UCF, he added three receptions for 97
yards, including a 44-yard TD fi ngertip-grab on a perfect route over the middle. He has three 90-yard receiving games this year.
The New Jersey product made his debut at wide receiver on Sept.
17 against Mississippi State and corralled Tulane's fi rst reception
of the game, a 20-yarder, on the Wave's second drive. He
fi nished the game with nine catches for 117 yards, including a
27-yard reception from punter Chris Beckman on a fake punt.
The 117 yard-eff ort is the 83rd-best in school history.
