Tulane Announces 3 Websites To Promote Football Standouts

NEW ORLEANS - On the eve of the Green Wave's home football game against nationally-ranked Houston, the Tulane University Athletics Department launched a trio of new websites to promote gridiron standouts André Anderson (www.AndreAnderson32.com), Ross Thevenot (www.RossThevenot47.com) and Jeremy Williams (www.JeremyWilliams20.com).

The sites can be accessed by typing the address into the web browser. In addition, buttons on the football page of TulaneGreenWave.com directs fans and media to the site as well.

The websites feature video highlights as well as updated statistics, notes, news clips and quotes on what coaches and writers around the country are saying about the Green Wave trio. The site also includes Anderson, Thevenot and Williams' game-by-game statistics as well as where they currently ranks in Green Wave single-game, single-season and career history.

A member of the Doak Walker Award Watchlist, which is awarded to the nation's top running back every year, Anderson has played in 27 career games with 12 starts, running for 1,439 yards and 14 touchdowns on 300 carries while catching 36 passes for 333 yards (9.25 avg.) and a score.

Anderson enters Saturday's game against the Cougars ranked seventh in Tulane career history with a 4.79 yard-per-carry average, tied for seventh in career 100-yard games (5), and 13th in career rushing yards. He started all five games so far in 2009, leading the team in rushing attempts (94), yards (446) and rushing touchdowns (5) while ranking second in all-purpose yards (552), and third in both catches (10) and receiving yards (106). Anderson currently ranks sixth in Conference USA and 33rd in the NCAA in rushing yards per game (89.2).

Thevenot was named first-team Preseason All-American by The Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, CDSDraft.com and 1st&10essee.com, and third-team Preseason All-American by Athlon, NBCSports.com and NationalChamps.net while claiming Preseason All-Conference USA honors, a spot on the Football Writers Association of America's All- American Checklist and was selected to the Ray Guy Award Watch List as one of the nation's top collegiate punters.



A senior from Lake Charles, La., Thevenot has played in 41 career games, scoring 198 career points, connecting on 36-of-60 field goals (.600) and 90-of-96 PATs (.938) while punting 107 times for 4,475 yards (41.82 avg.) with 12 touchbacks, 13 fair catches and 28 downed inside the 20 yard line. He ranks third in Tulane career history with a 41.82 yard-per-punt average, fifth in kicking points scored and field goals made, sixth in field goal attempts, tied for sixth in field goal percentage, third in PATs made, fourth in PATs attempted, and ninth in PAT percentage and total points

Williams, meanwhile, was recently named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List as one of the nation's top wide receivers. A three-year letterman from Baytown, Texas, Williams has played in 33 career games with 22 starts, hauling in 147 passes for 2,272 yards (15.46 avg.) and 15 touchdowns while running for 71 yards on 33 carries (2.15 avg.).

He ranks sixth in Tulane career history in yards per catch, 100-yard games (8), and receiving yards, ninth in receptions, and tied for ninth in touchdown catches. So far in 2009, Williams leads the team in catches (34), receiving yards (578), yards per catch (17.0), touchdown catches (3) and all-purpose yards (742) while ranking fourth on the club in rushing yards (38).

Williams currently leads C-USA in receiving yards per game (115.6), while sitting fourth in receptions per game and all-purpose yards per game (148.4). He also ranks eighth nationally in receiving yards per game, 23rd in all-purpose yards per game and • Has a trio of 100-yard receiving games in 2009, including a career-high 222 yards - the third-single-game history and the third-highest total nationally so far this year - on a career-best State on Sept. 26.
