HEAD COACH Bob Toledo
On the week of practice heading into Saturday's game at Army
"We had a good week of practice. Playing as well as we did, even thought we didn't win the football game, gives our guys a little confidence going into this next week. Realizing that they practiced hard, they have a chance to win."
On the amount of enthusiasm surrounding the program after the last two weeks
"It's incredible. The talk shows and all those things, everyone is so excited. I've gotten a lot of e-mails and I think a lot of people are excited about what they saw. Nobody's pleased with losing football game, but I think they see the positive steps we're taking, and that's the important thing."
His take on how prepared the Tulane team is to play Army on Saturday
"I think our guys practiced really hard and they're focused on what they have to do. It's our first road trip, and of course, we haven't won on the road in over a year. Our guys are looking forward to going to West Point, playing against Army and playing in front of a lot of our fans who live in New York and are going to the game."
On the matchup between Tulane and Army
"I think it's a good matchup. We compare favorably to Army. We have bright young men here and we have good leaders. Size-wise, speed-wise and athlete-wise, I think we match up very well."
