NEW ORLEANS - Tulane concluded two weeks worth of two-a-day practices Saturday with a morning scrimmage and a light afternoon workout.
Head coach Chris Scelfo held many of his established starters out of the morning scrimmage, but both quarterbacks - sophomore Patrick Ramsey and redshirt freshman Derrick Joseph - split time between the first and second units.
Ramsey completed 5-of-7 passes for 42 yards, while Joseph completed 8-of-12 for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Joseph started slowly, but connected on eight of his final nine attempts. Neither quarterback threw an interception.
"Both Patrick and Derrick looked good today," said Scelfo. "I think were going to be in a situation where we'll play both of them a fair amount. Neither has differentiated himself from the other."
Sandwiched in between the two practices Saturday the Green Wave participated in Fan Day activities as the Wilson Center.
Defending C-USA champion Tulane begins game-week preparations Monday for its season opener at Southern Miss. That game is scheduled for Labor Day, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m., and will be televised nationally by Fox Sports Net.
