New Orleans - The Tulane Green Wave football team will kick-off the 2008 season at 6:07 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 against the University of Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The contest will be produced by the Crimson Tide Sports Network for pay-per-view distribution. Pay-per-view telecasts are available to cable providers throughout the state of Alabama. Viewers can order the game through their local participating cable provider. The game also will be available on DirecTV and the Dish Network.

The Tulane-Alabama series dates back to 1894, TU's second season of sponsoring football. The two teams were both founding members of the Southeastern Conference in 1933 and played annually until the Green Wave left the league in 1966. This year's meeting marks the first contest between the teams since 1994, and the first in Tuscaloosa since 1991.
