New Orleans - The Tulane offense overcame a 30-minute weather delay due to lightning in the Uptown area and managed to gain an upper-hand on the Green Wave defense with quarterback Joe Kemp delivering timely passes all over the field during TU's second day in full pads at the Westfeldt Practice Facility.

Tuesday's practice was more of a thud day with the defensive players focused more on positioning, alignment and first contact more than tackling. The Tulane offense showed signs of great progress with its ball movement both in the air and on the ground.

Kemp was effective with short passes, intermediate throws and showed off his arm strength with several deep balls. One of his best plays of the day came with him using his feet first. Kemp was flushed from the pocket, but kept his eyes downfield while scrambling and found a wide open Cody Sparks with a 50-yard strike. He also delivered long throws to Charles Gaspard and D.J. Banks, each of whom made nice catches, during team passing drills.

Tulane returns to the practice field on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for its first two-a-day practice of fall camp. The Wave will return for an afternoon session at 3:30 p.m.
