New Orleans - Tulane University second-year head football coach Curtis Johnson welcomed 98 of 99 players to campus on Friday morning and officially kicked-off the 2013 Green Wave football fall preseason camp.
The team began the morning moving into their fall camp dorm rooms, meeting with various support staff areas and compliance officers, going through team rules and policies and was fitted for equipment. The players and coaches will conclude the evening with the first team meeting.
"Today is a long but fun day for the players with all the meetings and it's important to hear the message every area has for them and to get to know the support staff as well," Johnson said. "I am excited about this team and today because it's my first time to have everyone together. I really like being around the guys and getting to know the new players a lot better. I can tell these players are chomping at the bit and eager to get going. I can't wait to get started tomorrow."
