NEW ORLEANS -- The Tulane football team continues to work hard on the fundamentals, as situational play was the focus in Wednesday's edition of spring practice.
"We came out in shorts and shoulder pads and worked mostly on situational football," said head coach Chris Scelfo. "We concentrated on two-minute drills and short yardage situations, just basic fundamental football."
Wednesday's situational workout also gave a couple of players a chance to shine in new positions. Jeff Sanchez (running back), John Wilson (defensive back) and Mike Truax (running back) have each been impressive in the adjustment to a new position.
"John Wilson continues to impress me (in his move to the secondary), as does the entire secondary," said Scelfo. Jeff Sanchez, who is a natural running back, is seeing his instincts return to the position, while Mike Truax continues to work very hard."
Tulane continues spring practice through April 3. The Green Wave Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m.
