NEW ORLEANS -- The Tulane football team opened the third week of spring practice by focusing on the running game Monday afternoon.
"We stuck to the fundamentals and techniques of the running game today," said head coach Chris Scelfo. "I could see that we really made some progress today."
Much of Monday's two-hour workout focused on third down and short yardage situations. In addition to solid play by the Green Wave offense, the defense continued its strong play this spring by making its share of big plays.
"The defense made a lot of good plays today," said Scelfo. "The secondary got a couple of interceptions and batted some balls down. Overall, our defense is starting to come together."
Tulane continues spring practice through April 3. The Green Wave Spring Game is
scheduled for Saturday, April 1.
