Football Completes Third Week of Spring Drills

March 9, 2012

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane's football team completed the third week of spring spring on Friday with a 70-plus play scrimmage at the Westfeldt Practice Facility and it was the Green Wave defense that shone bright on the chilly damp morning.

"The defense came out to play today," Tulane head coach Curtis Johnson said. "I'm not sure what thay had for breakfast, but I want some of that. They really stood out. The offense tried to do their best, but the defense was just outstanding."

Senior linebacker Darryl Farley and sophomore safety Anthony Bronzo both came away with interceptions and a host of players recorded sacks on the Tulane quarterbacks.

"They (defense) played together as a unit," Johnson added. "They intercepted the ball, had sacks and recovered fumbles today. They did all they could today to win."

Tulane will take the next week off for spring break and will return to the practice field on Monday, March 19 to being the final week of practice, including the spring game scheduled for Saturday March 24.
