NEW ORLEANS - With Signing Day for football and women's soccer fast approaching, the Tulane Green Wave will unveil its 2001 freshman class to the public at a special celebration at the Louisiana Superdome on the first day of the winter signing period, Wednesday, Feb. 7. The party will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m., prior to Tulane's men's basketball game with Southern Miss, which tips off next door in the New Orleans Arena at 7 p.m.
The Signing Day Celebration will be held in the Gridiron Grill at the Superdome, which is located outside of Gate H (Northwest) at the corner of Poydras Street and Claiborne Avenue. Admission is free and concessions will be available at the event. All of the Green Wave coaching staffs, including football coach Chris Scelfo and new women's soccer coach Betsy Anderson, will be on hand to talk about their 2000-01 signees, and a video highlight tape of the newest members of the Tulane Family will be shown. Complete information on all of Tulane's signees, including bios and high school statistics and awards, will be passed out to those attending. Parking is available in the Southwest Garage of the Superdome for $6.
As a special bonus, individuals who attend the Signing Day Party can purchase tickets there to that evening's Tulane vs. Southern Miss men's basketball game for just $8.
The Tulane Signing Day Celebration is hosted by the Greenbackers Club.
