New Orleans - Tulane's senior trio of Andre Anderson, Adam Kwentua and Jeremy Williams has each been named to the 2009 All-Louisiana Sports Writers Football Second Team following a vote from a panel of LSWA members. All three players are first time recipients of All-Louisiana honors.

A running back from Stone Mountain, Ga., Anderson started all 12 games this past season and led the Green Wave in rushing attempts (238), rushing yards (1,016) and rushing touchdowns (8) while ranking second in all-purpose yards (1,246), third in both catches (30) and receiving yards (230), and tied for third in touchdown catches (1). His 2009 numbers rank fourth in the Tulane single-season record book in carries (227) and sixth in rushing yards (1,016).

Anderson tallied a season-best 199 rushing yards - which ranks 14th in Tulane single-game history - and a career-best four touchdowns on 28 carries against McNeese State on Sept. 26.

Anderson joined Williams as the school's first-ever tandem to surpass 1,000 rushing (Anderson) and receiving (Williams) yards in the same season.

A native of Baton Rouge, La., Kwentua started all 12 games as a defensive end and tallied 43 stops (24 solo), including 1.5 stops for lost yardage, recovered one fumble and intercepted one pass. He led the Green Wave defensive line in total tackles and grabbed his first career interception off LSU's Jordan Jefferson in the first quarter. He finished fifth overall in tackles.

Williams, a wide receiver who hails from Baytown, Texas, started all 12 games in 2009 and led the team in receptions (84), receiving yards (1,113), yards per catch (13.2), touchdown catches (7), kickoff return yards (483), kickoff returns (2-0) and all-purpose yards (1,763) while ranking second on the club in rushing yards (167). He ranked third in C-USA for receiving yards per game (92.8) and receptions per game (7.0), while sitting sixth in all-purpose yards per game (146.9) and ranked 10th nationally in receiving yards per game, 11th in catches per game and 26th in all- purpose yards per game.

William's best game came against UTEP on Nov. 7 when he tallied 324 all-purpose yards, which ranks third in Tulane single-game history and is tied for third in the nation in 2009. Williams caught 10 passes for 139 yards, ran three times for 40 yards and returned three kickoffs for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Nominees for the team came from sports information directors from the football playing four-year schools in the state and then voting was done by a panel of LSWA members. Nominating information was based on the play of the team through the end of the regular season.
