HEAD COACH Bob Toledo
Overall thoughts on the game
"I think this was a great team win for our program. I thought we did some nice things on both sides of the ball tonight. We made some big plays in the second half with some turnovers defensively in the second half and offensively, we were able to make some big plays and kept our drives alive. I thought Casey Robottom had a big day. He's such a great performer, and we were able to run the ball extremely well and that gave us an opportunity to open up the offense.
On his team's ability to move the ball at will in the fourth quarter
"We were able to knock them off the ball and our backs ran very hard. Orleans came in and gave is a spark and Albert ran well also. I told our players last night this was a must win. We had to win this football game. I told them I was sick and tired of coming into the locker room and saying we lost. I wanted them to come in here and have fun and be excited and they responded and we had a great locker room after the game. This win takes the monkey off our backs and now we will go home and play four straight in front of our home crowd."
SOPHOMORE QUARTERBACK Ryan Griffin
On the offense's production in the win
"This was a great team performance. The offensive line played great and we were able to throw the ball effectively in the second half because we dominated the run game. They were running a lot of single safety and bringing a lot of pressure which we weren't really prepared for but we made the proper adjustments and we were able to take the lead. "Casey was unbelievable tonight. In the fourth quarter, Coach Dodd gave me options to run it or check it and told me get it to Casey and let him win the game for us."
Overall thoughts on the game
"This was a great win for us. The coaches called the play and I just tried to do my jobs and make a play when the ball came my way. In the second half, it seemed like every time we called a play we got the coverage we wanted and were able to take advantage."
SENIOR STRONG SAFETY Alex Wacha
On the team's defensive effort
"They showed us some new wrinkles early on. (Trevor) Vittatoe started at quarterback and then they brought in (James) Thomas and he did some nice things that kept us off balance. But we were able to address our mistakes at halftime and we made some plays and got some turnovers for the offense. Our offensive line played well and we were able to run the ball effectively. We knew we had the opportunity to win the game and we made the plays we needed to."
On his game-sealing interception
"On the last series, we knew they were going to throw long. The first time they threw to my side, I was able to make a play but couldn't quite get the ball into my hands. The next time, I played the ball and the quarterback and was able to make the play."
