Recap |  Final Stats | PDF Final Stats | PDF Notes

  • Tulane falls to 1-3 all-time against the Miners. The Green Wave's lone victory was last season in New Orleans, when the Wave downed UTEP 34-19 at the Superdome

  • The Green Wave had won back-to-back games in the state of Texas, but fall to 10-8 in the Lone Star State since the start of the 1990 season.

  • Junior RB Andre Anderson's career-high 255 yards rushing was the fourth most in a single game by a Tulane runner. It was the 13th 200-yard rushing game in Tulane history. Anderson becomes one of just four players to rush for over 200 yards twice in his Tulane career, joining Matt Forte (six times), Mewelde Moore (twice) and Eddie Price (twice), each of whom went on to play in the NFL.

  • Anderson moved into the top 15 single-season rushing leaders in Tulane history with 852 yards, which ranks 13th.

  • Andre Anderson recorded his first game with more than two touchdowns, with two rushing and one receiving. His 28-yard touchdown reception was his first career touchdown catch.

  • Andre Anderson recorded his fourth consecutive game with 100 or more yards rushing. He is now tied for 10th on Tulane's all-time list of games with over 100 yards rushing with four, tied with Marvin Lewis (1980-81) and Jovon Jackson (2002-05).

  • Andre Anderson's 72-yard touchdown run was the longest play from scrimmage for the Green Wave this season, a career-long for Anderson and the longest Tulane run since Matt Forte's 77-yard scamper against SMU on Oct. 20, 2007 vs SMU. It was the longest run against UTEP since D'Angelo Williams of Memphis broke a 74-yard touchdown run in 2005.

  • Kevin Moore caught his first career pass, a gain of 14 yards, on the option pass from Brian King, setting up first and goal at the 10. It was King's first career pass attempt and completion.

  • Kevin Moore becomes the 18th different player to catch a pass for Tulane this season, which is tied for the most different receivers among all teams in the NCAA (with Troy University)

  • With one sack, Tulane's defense now has 16 on the season. Tulane entered the game tied for sixth in the NCAA in sacks per game, after leading the nation through its first four games.

  • Tulane allowed UTEP to convert seven third downs, the most the Green Wave have allowed this season. Tulane held its first five opponents to only three or fewer conversions on third down. Tulane entered with a third down defense holding opponents to 23 percent (12 of 52), which was fourth in the nation.

  • Tulane's time of possession was 28:46, the shortest time of possession for the Green Wave in a game this season by 9:15. Tulane was averaging 35:54 in T.O.P. this season. The Green Wave held the ball for only nine minutes in the first half, compared to 21:46 in the second.

  • Tulane senior C Michael Parenton started his 20th consecutive game, dating back to a missed start in 2006 at UTEP due to food poisoning. LB Evan Lee started his 21st consecutive game, the longest active streak for the Green Wave. Andrew Nierman and Reggie Scott each made their 18th-consecutive starts.

  • Freshman defensive tackle Emmanuel Aluko first career appearance in the first quarter.

  • Tulane's captains for the game: senior center Michael Parenton, senior defensive end Reggie Scott, junior running back Andre Anderson, senior defensive tackle Julian Shives-Sams.
