Head Coach Curtis Johnson
Overall thoughts on the game
"I'm obviously very pleased. Rob Kelley was excellent. Orleans Darkwa had 118 yards and a touchdown. Robert [Kelley] averaged 4.8 yards per carry. Our running game did a great job today. Defensively, I thought they played outstanding. They were terrific. Jordan Batiste had eight tackles and an interception. It was an outstanding effort."
On the game plan
"We talked about it all week. They gave me the plan. I said, `okay.' I was a little skeptical but everyone else was on board with the offensive and defensive plan. Offensively, we ran the ball very, very well. Lionel Washington and Jon Sumrall said we could turn them over if we can hit this quarterback, and that's what they did. It was a great plan."
On the running game
"That's how we have to win. We can run the ball and if we can keep these games close, we can be able to throw the ball again and throw it well. It was a good game for us. We played well."
On Tulane going 2-1 during its three-game road trip
"It's a great feeling. We split this road trip. We got two wins on the road and it's just fantastic."
Senior RB Orleans Darkwa
On the way the team played as a whole
"I feel like tonight we eliminated a lot of our past mistakes and everything seemed very crisp tonight as an offense and even defensively. Our offensive line did a great job of blocking for all the running backs tonight. I think they were the key to the win tonight from an offensive standpoint. The line really had a great game."
On the way the team ran the ball tonight
"We saw the holes and we knew that we could hit them. From an offensive standpoint, we stuck with our ground game and were able to not just maintain but increase our lead. All of our running backs did well. The more touches we get, the stronger we are as a group. Overall, we did a great job, but there's always room for improvement."
Senior LB Dominique Robertson
On the defense setting the tone early on
"We started fast tonight and that really helped us get going early on. Coach C.J. emphasized the importance of starting fast all week. When we start fast, we can play games like this and not have to play catch up. We were able to stop them on the first drive and we kept the momentum going throughout the rest of the game."
On stopping ULM QB Kolton Browning
"We had a really good game plan for tonight. It was a lot different than last year. The coaches prepared us well and we were able to go out and execute tonight."
On his fumble return for a touchdown
"The play call was a blitz. I didn't expect Jordan Batiste to get to the quarterback before me, but I'm glad he did. I saw the ball fly into the air and I grabbed it and ran as fast as I could to the endzone. It fell right into my hands. I was just in the right place at the right time and it felt good. It helped us break the game open early in the third quarter."
