WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) - J.P. Losman passed for 350 yards and five touchdowns as Tulane held off a late Army rally and beat the Black Knights 50-33 Saturday.
Roydell Williams caught three TD passes as Tulane (3-1) ended its three-game losing skid to Army (0-3) in the Conference USA opener for both teams.
Losman has passed for more than 300 yards in every game this year.
It was Army's 10th straight home loss and fifth straight overall.
Tulane opened the game with a 70-yard drive capped by a 13-yard TD run by Kris Coleman. In the second quarter, Williams' 3-yard TD catch completed a 65-yard drive.
Tulane got its third TD with 2:34 left in the half as Losman hooked up with Williams on a 31-yard scoring pass. That gave the Green Wave a 22-6 halftime lead after Anthony Zurisko hit two field goals for Army.
Momentum swung the Black Knights' way in the second half, but two lost fumbles and an interception cost Army several scoring chances.
The Black Knights got their first touchdown on Zac Dahman's 28-yard pass to Aaron Alexander early in the third quarter.
On Army's next position Tulane defensive back Joey Dawson picked up a fumble by Dahman and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown. In the next series, another fumble by the Army quarterback at the Tulane 21 stopped a drive.
Army got the ball back on the Tulane 30 after a partially blocked punt, but Tulane's Trawick Boger picked off a pass to thwart the scoring opportunity.
In the fourth quarter, Carlton Jones capped a 51-yard drive for Army, scoring with a 28-yard TD run.
Tulane then came back with Losman passing to Moore and Williams for two more
But Losman then answered with a 22-yard TD pass to Tristan Smith, putting the game out of reach.
