Tulane Caps '38 In The Dome' Celebration With All-Dome Team

Members of the 52-player team to be on hand for 2013 home finale on Saturday against UTEP

Beginning his second stint as a member of the Green Wave football program is former TU defensive standout Tra Boger. Boger has traded in his helmet and pads after brief stints with the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a spot on the sideline as a graduate assistant coach for the Wave's defense this fall.

Boger, 26, returned to his alma mater in the spring of 2009 after spending the 2008 campaign at Conference USA rival UTEP as the Miners' offensive program coordinator and also assisted with the wide receivers. The Miners' passing game conclude the 2008 campaign ranked 14th in the nation.

Prior to UTEP, he spent the 2007 season as the defensive coordinator at Chapel Hill Junior High School in Decatur, Ga. Before that, he served as a defensive back coach for Southwest DeKalb High Schools (DeKalb, Ga.) during the 2006 campaign.

A four-year letterwinner from 2001-05, Boger was a two-time All-Conference USA selection during his time as a Green Wave player, and completed his career ranked ninth on the school's career list for interceptions with nine and his 24.33 yards per interception return ranks eighth. He was a member of the 2002 Hawaii Bowl championship team and was named to the LSWA All-Louisiana team in 2003.

In 2003, Boger earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors after leading the Green Wave with a career-high 133 tackles (74 solo) which ranked sixth in Conference USA. His four forced fumbles (0.33 per game) ranked third in C-USA while his six pass break-ups were tied for second on the team.

Boger earned Conference USA All-Freshman Team honors after playing in all 12 games and starting seven as a true freshman.

A native of Decatur, Ga., Boger received his bachelor's degree in media arts from Tulane in 2006 and is currently working toward his master's degree in liberal arts.
