2004: Started all 11 games in the Wave secondary. Began the year at cornerback, but moved to free safety for the final five games of the season. Ranked third on the team with 78 tackles, including 40 solo stops. Second on the team with five pass break-ups. Handled six kickoff returns in the final two games of the year, including a career-best 38-yard return against TCU (11/27). Recorded at least six tackles in every game, including a season-best nine (seven solo) against East Carolina (10/9). Tallied eight tackles against UAB (10/23), Houston (10/30) and Army (11/13). Also forced a pair of fumbles, one each in the final two games of the year.

2003: A Third Team All-Conference USA selection who was Tulane's most consistent defender in 2003. Ranked third on the team with 102 tackles (69 solo). Third in Conference USA and topped Tulane in interceptions with five. Recorded 4.5 tackles for loss to lead all Tulane DBs and broke up five passes. Had four double-figure tackle games and recorded a tackle for loss, pass break-up or interception in nine different games. Named Tulane Defensive Player of the Game for Texas (9/27) performance when he had 12 tackles, 11 solo. Also earned the honor vs. Army (9/20) and Navy (11/1) with a career-high 13 stops and an interception at Army and two turnovers (INT, FR) at Navy. Picked off passes in three of Tulane's last four games, including Southern Miss (11/15) and East Carolina (11/22). Also had 11 tackles at Louisville (10/17) and 10 (with an interception) against Northwestern State (9/6). Started all 12 games for the Wave, four at right corner, six at left corner and two at free safety. One of just seven players to start all 12 games.

2002: Tulane's No. 1 nickel back. Earned C-USA All-Freshman team honors after scoring three touchdowns via the return in 2002. Picked up a fumble and ran 76 yards for a touchdown versus Southern (8/31). Scored Tulane's first touchdown against Cincinnati (10/12) with a 42-yard interception return. Took a lateral from Tra Boger after Boger's interception versus UAB (10/19) and went the remaining 53 yards for a score. Made 54 tackles, 38 solo, with four tackles for loss on the year. Had a big game in the Hawai'i Bowl (12/25) with eight tackles (five solo), a quarterback sack, an interception which he returned for 24 yards and a pair of pass break ups. His eight PBU's ranked third on the team. Started his career with two break-ups and the INT versus Southern. Made a career-high nine tackles, seven solo, versus Memphis (9/21). Came up with a big game versus Cincinnati with six tackles, the interception and score, a quarterback sack and a pass break-up. Also got half a sack with seven tackles in the Southern Miss game (11/23). Added six tackles and a pass break up versus UL-Monroe (10/5) and tallied five solo stops versus Southern.

HIGH SCHOOL: Named one of Georgia's "Gridiron Greats" in 2001. As a senior, made 55 tackles, broke up 10 passes, caused one fumble and recovered one. Totalled 105 tackles, an interception, 24 pass break ups, two caused fumbles and one fumble recovery for his career. Blocked a punt his junior season and returned four kickoffs for 82 yards. His team won the Region 7-5A title. The Jaguars were 10-3 in 2001. Team went 9-2 as a junior and advanced to the playoffs. Was on the 4x100 relay team that finished fourth in the state in class 5A in 2001. Qualified for the Stephenson High Honor Roll. Played for Coach Ron Gartrell.

PERSONAL: Full name is Sean Christopher Lucas. Born December 8, 1983 in Atlanta, Ga. The son of Harold Lucas and Vicky Franklin. An honor student in high school. Majoring in the humanities. Came to Tulane with high school teammate Anthony Cannon and the two were joined by fellow Stephenson alum Israel Route in 2003.
