Three-year starter who played running back, wide receiver and defensive back at Stanton Prep. Earned first team All-First Coast recognition as a senior. Made 95 tackles, including 65 solo stops, his senior season. Added 10 pass break-ups, an interception and two caused fumbles. On offense, scored four touchdowns, three receiving and one rushing. Averaged 30 yards on kickoff returns. Totaled 205 tackles in his prep career, including 130 solos. Broke up 31 passes and picked off four in three seasons. Had a career-high 13 PBUs as a junior in 1999 and eight his sophomore season. Blocked a pair of punts in 2000 following a three-blocked punt season as a junior. Played for Coach Freddie Stephens. Also played basketball and ran track at Stanton. Won the UNF High School Achievement Award. Cited “good academics” and the “coaching staff” as his reasons for choosing Tulane. |
