2003: Played in nine games on special teams and recorded five tackles (three solo). Made his collegiate debut against Army (9/20) and had a pair of tackles. Also had stops against Houston (10/11), UAB (11/8) and Southern Miss (11/15). Earned a letter after walking on to the team in the fall.

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped the Dragons to the Class 5A State Championship in 2002 with a perfect 16-0 record. Also lettered in track as a sprinter, winning the district championship in the 4x400 relay.

PERSONAL: Full name is Christian Blake Merritt. Born February 5, 1984 in Page, Ariz. The son of Ken and Patti Merritt. Plans to major in business at Tulane.
