Tony Kinkela enters his third season as the director of football operations for the Green Wave in 2008. Kinkela is responsible for all phases of the football team travel, management of the team's pre-season camp, the student volunteer program for Tulane football, and the day-to-day operations of the football program. He also assists with the organization of Tulane's recruiting efforts and with the Green Wave Football Camps.
Kinkela, 27, came to Tulane prior to the 2006 campaign from Washington State University, where he spent seasons as a member of the Cougars' football operations staff.
During the 2004 and 2005 campaigns, Kinkela was the assistant director of football operations at Washington State. He assisted in all aspects of football operations, including team travel, bowl preparations, in-game and post-game duties, fundraising opportunities and the summer football camps. Kinkela also served as the assistant to the recruiting coordinator during the same period, coordinating on campus official and unofficial visits and oversaw the recruiting film system.
As a member of the Cougars' staff, Kinkela was a part of Washington State's 2003 Rose Bowl and Holiday Bowl teams, and the 2001 Sun Bowl squad.
As a student at WSU, he served as a student-assistant for the football team from 2001-04, and was a student representative for the NCAA Peer Review Board from 2001-02. A native of Graham, Wash., Kinkela received his bachelor's degree in sport management from Washington State in 2004.
