Career Notes: Four-year letterman completed 115-of-185 passes (.622) for 1,532 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions while catching 42 passes for 426 yards (10.1 avg.) and two scores for his career...played in 37 games with 25 starts...made successful transition from quarterback to wide receiver for his final two seasons.
2011: Started all 13 games as a senior...ranked tied for third on the team in touchdown catches (1), fourth in receptions (28) and fifth in receiving yards (272)...tied a career-best with six grabs at UAB (9/17) when he finished the day with 54 yards receiving and a touchdown catch...tallied a career-high 83 receiving yards on four grabs - including a career-long 43-yarder - vs Southeastern Louisiana (9/3)...also had four catches for 24 yards vs Tulsa (9/10)...added three-catch outings at Duke (9/24) and at Army (10/1)...completed lone pass of the season for 35 yards vs Syracuse (10/8) while adding a pair of catches for 19 yards.
2010: Played in 11 games with six starts at receiver as a junior...finished tied for fifth on the team in receiving touchdowns (1), and seventh in both receptions (14) and receiving yards (154)...also completed 4-of-8 passes (.500) for 115 yards...tallied career highs with six catches for 57 yards vs Army (10/9)...caught two passes for 34 yards and a touchdown while completing 1-of-3 passes for 31 yards at Rutgers (10/2)...started first career game at wide receiver at Houston (9/25), catching three passes for 25 yards and completing a pass for a 38-yard gain.
2009: Saw action in eight games at quarterback as a sophomore, including starts in the first six games of the year...led the team in completion percentage (64.6) and quarterback efficiency rating (132.61) while ranking second in pass attempts (130), completions (84), passing yards (1038) and touchdown passes (4), and third in total offense (992)...posted career highs with 16 completions, 26 passing attempts and 278 yards in the season-opener vs Tulsa (9/4)...had a career-best .769 completion percentage (10-of-13) for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns vs McNeese State (9/26)...his 68-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Williams against the Cowboys was a career long...ran for a career-high 24 yards on six carries while completing 10-of-15 passes for 124 yards vs Houston (10/17).
2008: Played in five games as a redshirt-freshman, seeing time against Alabama (9/6), Army (10/4), Rice (10/25), LSU (11/1) and Houston (11/8)...finished second on the team in pass attempts (46), completions (26), passing yards (344) and touchdown passes (2), and third in total offense (310)...both of his touchdown strikes came against Rice when he posted season highs with 14 completions, 20 pass attempts and 201 passing yards...went 4-of-7 for 57 yards and an interception vs Army...threw a season-long 42-yard touchdown pass to Casey Robottom vs Rice...suffered a season-ending shoulder injury at Houston and missed the final three games of the year.
2007: Did not play as a true freshman...redshirted the season.
High School: Three-year letterman at Richland High as a quarterback for coach Gein Weir...rated No. 109 quarterback in the country by ESPN.com's RecruitTracker...for his prep career, passed for 4,250 yards and 37 touchdowns...as a senior, received honorable-mention all-District 5-5A honors and was an Area Top 25 Recruit...as a junior, threw for 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns, and passed for 678 yards and seven scores as a sophomore...posted career day against rival Haltom high as a senior when he completed 23-of-26 passes for 278 yards and three scores in a 34-27 victory...attended 2006 Army All-American Combine...also lettered in basketball and track and field.
Personal: Born Joseph D. Kemp on September 13, 1988, in North Richland Hills, Texas...son of Greg Kemp and Patsy Williams...has one brother, Jake...completed his degree in business management in May 2012.
