High School: Three-year letterman at Spain Park High for coach David Shores...rated a three-star recruit and received a scout grade of 78 by ESPN.com while receiving two-star recognition by Rivals.com and Scout.com and claiming the No. 105 ranking nationally among tight ends by Scout.com...helped Spain Park to a combined 26-13 overall record and three consecutive postseason appearances, including a state runner-up finish as a sophomore and the a third-round appearance as a senior...for his career, hauled in 21 passes for 268 yards...also earned three letters in basketball where he helped SPHS to a regional title as a senior...off the field, was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, and was named to the Birmingham News All-Academic Team.
