2009: Played in each of the first five games of the year as a true freshman before suffering a season-ending knee injury on the final play of the Marshall game (10/10)...finished third on the team in rushing yards (85) and carries (19) while ranking fourth in kickoff return yards (158), tied for fourth in kickoff returns (8), fifth in total offense (85), sixth in all-purpose yards (279) and tied for seventh in catches (7)...tallied a career-best 91 all-purpose yards against Marshall after rushing for a season-high 51 yards on 10 carries, catching four passes for 22 yards and returning a kickoff for 18 yards...had 88 yards of total offense vs BYU (9/12) after carrying four times for 15 yards, hauling in a pair of passes for 10 yards and returning three kickoffs for 63 yards...posted a career-best 64 return yards - including a career-long 38-yarder - on three kickoffs in collegiate debut vs Tulsa (9/4).

High School: Three-year letterman at Jesuit High for coach Wayde Keiser...named two-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com, while claiming the No. 120 and No. 178 running back in the country rating by Scout.com and ESPN.com, respectively...as a senior, ran for 347 yards and six touchdowns on 70 carries while hauling in eight passes for 101 yards and a score...invited to play in the Army and the Under Armour All-American games...best game as a senior came against Chalmette on Oct. 17, 2008 when he ran for 95 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries...limited to five games as a junior after suffering a high ankle sprain but still earned all-district honors after running for 580 yards and nine touchdowns...earned all-district honors as a sophomore when he galloped for 783 yards and 13 scores on 114 carries...ran for 130 yards, posted 110 yards and three touchdowns receiving and had a 60-yard kickoff return in a single game that year...also lettered in track where he has personal best times of 10.7 in the 100 meters, 6.7 in the 565 meters and 22.1 in the 200 meters while finishing second in the state in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and anchoring the 4x200 relay team which finished fifth.

Personal: Born Payten Michael Jason on May 10, 1990, in Waggaman, La...son of Kermit and Phyllis Jason...has four brothers: Kermis, Joshua, Jeremy and Durand; and two sisters: Jaime and Leah...brother, Jeremy, and cousin, Richard Jackson, played college football at Southern, and Jackson went on to play for the Denver Broncos...majoring in business.
