Richard Harvey was inducted into the 1999 Tulane Hall OF Fame.
Richard Harvey, a four-year letter winner at Tulane from 1985-88 who led the team in tackles three of those four years and complied 313 career tackles. HE ranks sixth on the all-time list for solo tackles with 221. Harvey helped the 1987 Tulane team to an independence Bowl bid in his junior season. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Tulane in 1996. The Gautier, Miss., native was drafted in the 11th round of the 1989 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills and went on to play 12 years in the Nation Football League, including three seasons (1995-97) with the New Orleans Saints. He also played for the Bills (1989 and 1992-93), New England Patriots (1990-91), Denver Broncos (1994), and Oakland Raiders (1998-1990). Harvey was a player representative for the Nation Football League Players Association (NFLPA) from 1993-2001 and was a member of that organization's executive committee from 1999-2001. Then joined the staff of the Tulane Athletics Funs as Assistant Athletic Director for Revenue Development.
