High School: Member of the Waco Tribune-Herald's Top 100 Texas recruits. Finalist for the Old Spice Red Zone Lone Star All-Star team. Played on both sides of the ball as a junior and helped lead the Lions to the state title game. Second team all-district choice as a senior. Named All-East Texas following his junior and senior seasons. Earned third team recognition on Texas Football Magazine's "Super Team." Rushed for 500 yards and scored eight touchdowns as a senior. On defense, broke up 20 passes. His junior season, ran for 467 yards and scored four touchdowns. Also picked off a pass. Played for coach Allen Wilson. Joined teammates William Blaylock and Donald Madlock in signing with the Green Wave. Member of the track and field and baseball teams at John Tyler.
