Earned first team recognition on the All-District 7-5A team as a safety in each of his last two seasons. Academic All-State choice in 2005 while serving as team captain. Named Duncanville High's top defensive back his senior season. Made 95 tackles, including five tackles for loss, broke up seven passes, forced three fumbles and recovered one. As a junior, tallied 84 tackles and a pair of interceptions with 10 pass break-ups, two quarterback sacks and two tackles for loss. Career totals include 208 tackles, 19 pass break-ups, three interceptions and eight tackles for loss. In 2004, his team went 9-3 and advanced to the third round of the playoffs. They also went to the playoffs in 2003 with an 8-3 final mark. Three-year letterwinner in track who ran the 400 meters and the 4 x 400 relay. Track and field squad won the district title in 2003. Member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Listed in "Who's Who Among High School Students."
