Career Notes: Two-year letterman has tallied 34 tackles (18 solo, 16 assits), 1.0 tackle for loss, one forced fumble and an interception returned for 24 yards...played in 24 games with two starts for his career...listed No. 2 on the depth chart at middle linebacker heading into preseason practice.
2011: Saw action in all 13 games one start as a sophomore...ranked tied for third on the team in interceptions (1), tied for fourth in forced fumbles (1) and tied for 12th with 27 tackles (16 solo, 11 assists)...posted a career-best six tackles twice: two solo, four assists at Army (10/1) and six solo to go with a forced fumble and an interception he returned 24 yards at Hawai'i (11/26) in lone start of the season...had a three-tackle game (1 solo, 2 assists) at East Carolina (10/29) and posted a pair of stops on five occasions: both solo tackles vs Southeastern Louisiana (9/3), vs Tulsa (9/10) and vs UTEP (10/15) and two-assist outings at Duke (9/24) and vs Houston (11/10).
2010: Played in 11 games with one start as a true freshman...finished with seven tackles (2 solo, 5 assists), including one for a loss of two yards...posted a pair of three-tackle performances: one solo and two assists at Tulsa (10/16) and three assisted stops at Marshall (11/27)...also had a solo tackle vs Ole Miss (9/11).
High School: Two-year letterman at Collins Hill High where he played linebacker, safety and wide receiver for head coach Larry Sherrill...rated a two-star prospect by ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com...received a Scout Grade of 73 and was rated the No. 138 outside linebacker in the nation by ESPN.com, and ranked the No. 142 outside linebacker nationally by Scout.com...helped the Screaming Eagles go a combined 16-6 with a pair of trips to the playoffs...voted team captain as a senior, but had his year cut short with a shoulder injury...in two and a half games, posted 17 tackles (12 solo, 5 assists), three tackles for loss and a sack...named honorable-mention all-county as a junior after tallying 118 tackles (71 solo, 47 assists), including 13 tackles for loss and three sacks, forcing three fumbles and picking off a pass...named MVP for defensive backs at the 2008 Regional Underclassmen Combine...away from the field, was a member of the Honor Roll and the Institute for the Development of Educational and Athletic Leadership Skills (IDEALS).
