Doug Connelly, at 25 one of the youngest directors of football operations in the country, begins his third season at Tulane in 2004.
In that role, Connelly coordinates the logistics of all events associated with the Tulane Football program, including team travel, preseason schedules and recruiting visits. He is also heavily involved with the annual Chris Scelfo Football Camp and other off-season events. In addition, Connelly coordinates community service and volunteer projects for the Green Wave football team.
A native of Monroe, Ga., Connelly graduated cum laude from Georgia Southern University in 2001, earning a degree in sports management. While attending GSU, Connelly assisted the athletic media relations staff. He also worked with the University of Georgia football program where he helped manage recruiting efforts.
Prior to his arrival at Tulane, Connelly spent one year as an operations and community relations intern with the Cleveland Browns. While with the Browns, Connelly worked to coordinate the logistics of the 2001 training camp and implemented the Outback Steakhouse Road Trip with the Browns program.
