2002 (through regular season): Saw action in nine games, recording seven tackles (two solo). Recorded his only sack of the year, for a loss of nine yards, in the Wave win over UAB (10/19). Also tallied a pair of tackles versus UL-Monroe (10/5) in a return to his hometown. Played both defensive end and defensive tackle during the season and bounced between second and third teams. Saw his most action versus Texas, Army and Southern Miss.
2001: Played in 11 games with four starts at defensive end. Named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. Recorded 36 tackles (20 solo) and was fourth on the team with eight tackles for loss. Tied for second on the team in sacks with five. Ranked second in C-USA in fumbles forced with four. Posted a big game against league champ Louisville (11/3) with a career-best seven tackles, including a pair of QB sacks and a pair of forced fumbles. Tallied four tackles with a sack and a forced fumble against Southern (9/29).
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter at defensive end at Ouachita who was a second team All-Northeast Louisiana selection in 2000. Named one of the Top 25 prospects in Louisiana by SuperPrep. Earned second team All-District 2-5A recognition as a senior. Registered 162 total tackles and 19.5 sacks during his prep career. Compiled 76 tackles his senior season and had 6.5 quarterback sacks. Named team Defensive MVP as a senior. Played for Coach John Causey.
