TULANE: A three-year letterwinner and returning starter... has played in 22 career games with seven starts... career rushing numbers include 993 yards on 206 attempts (4.8 ypc) and nine touchdowns... receiving totals include 227 yards on 26 receptions (8.7 ypc) and one touchdown... faced limited contact during spring drills but enters fall camp as the starting running back... a candidate for both the Doak Walker Award and for All-Conference USA honors.
2008 (JUNIOR): Started the first seven games of the year before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in the second quarter against Rice... named a Doak Walker Award candidate and was an honorable mention All C-USA performer... selected as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29... rushed for 864 yards and seven touchdowns on 174 carries (5.0 ypc) and registered 25 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown... galloped for a career long 72-yard score at UTEP... at the time of his injury, he ranked first among C-USA running backs in rushing (142.0) and all-purpose yards (175.67) and was fourth nationally in both categories... rushed for 100 or more yards in four games, including two contests with 200+ yards and owned two of the nation's top rushing performances with 219 yards vs. SMU and 255 yards at UTEP... the 219 yards vs. SMU ranks seventh on the school's single game rushing list, while the 255 yards is fourth... his 864 yards in 2008 ranks 11th on the school's single season rushing charts... 2007 (SOPHOMORE): Saw action in nine games and finished third on the team in rushing with 14 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown... scored his lone touchdown of the season on an end-around against No. 2 LSU... reeled off a 43-yard run vs. UTEP... recorded the first reception of his career with a 25-yard catch vs. Tulsa... 2006 (FRESHMAN): Played in six games and rushed 18 times for 38 yards and one touchdown... scored his first collegiate touchdown vs. Army... rushed for a season-high 29 yards on seven carries at Tulsa.
HIGH SCHOOL: First team all-DeKalb County and named to the Prep Star All-Region team... an all-DeKalb County choice in 2004 and was a nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman... honorable mention all-state that season... as a senior, rushed for 1,827 yards and 16 touchdowns while catching eight passes for 88 yards... tallied 1,042 rushing yards and seven TDs as a junior... career totals included 2,970 rushing yards and 24 rushing scores with 10 catches... as a senior, Stephenson won 12 straight games and advanced to the state high school semifinals... earned letters in track and soccer and was named defensive MVP of the soccer team... top Scholar-Athlete on the varsity track team... member of the school's honor roll every year... follows Stephenson alums Anthony Cannon, Sean Lucas and Israel Route to Tulane.
