Career Note: Three-year letterman who made the successful transition to offensive guard last season after playing defensive tackle and tight end during his first two collegiate seasons...has played in 27 games with six starts for his career...tallied nine tackles (1 solo, 8 assists), including a half tackle for loss. 2010: Played in 10 games with starts at right guard over the final four games of the season as a junior...helped block the way for then-freshman running back Orleans Darkwa to rush for a Tulane rookie record 925 yards and 11 touchdowns...in starts against Southern Miss (11/6), Rice (11/13), UCF (11/20) and Marshall (11/27), helped the team average 124.3 rushing and 291.3 passing yards per game. 2009: Saw action in 11 games as a sophomore, including starts at defensive tackle against Tulsa (9/4) and BYU (9/12) and had one assisted tackle in each of those contests...moved to tight end in the third game of the year and was a key member of the team's kickoff return team. 2008: Played in seven games at defensive tackle as a true freshman...posted seven tackles (1 solo, 6 assists) for the season, including a half tackle for loss...had a career-best three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) at Memphis (11/29)...tallied a pair of assisted stops, including a tackle for a one-yard loss, at LSU (11/1)...also had single tackles in his collegiate debut at UTEP (10/11) and again at Tulsa (11/22). High School: Three-year letterman at Alief Elsik High where he saw time along the offensive and defensive lines for coach Bill Barron...rated the No. 129 prep guard by Scout.com...as a senior, named first-team All-District 18-5A after posting 86 tackles - including a single-game high of 16 tackles - six sacks and three forced fumbles...selected to play in the Space City All-Star Game in Houston following senior season...started at offensive tackle as a sophomore and junior before moving to the defensive line...had 47 pancake blocks and did not allow a sack as a junior...also lettered in track & field...off the field, was a member of PAL, Student Council, Peer Assistance and the Leadership Council.
