David Abercrombie was inducted into the Tulane 1993 Hall OF Fame.
Born May 20, 1949, David Abercrombie attended Seminary HS in Mississippi, where he played under Coach E. Rodgers. After high school he attended Jones Junior College in Mississippi for two years, where he led Jones to a National Junior College Championship in 1968. Abercrombie was named the Most Valuable Back in Mississippi Junior Circuit. Abercrombie received the starting quarterback position after an excellent spring game where he passed for (132) yards and impressed the coaches as a tremendous competitor with fine balance and quickness. Abercrombie finished the season with (1025) Rushing Yards, (62) Receiving Yards and (8) Touchdowns.
