Greetings Tulane Fans,
First let me apologize for the delay in this chat because it has been way too long since I sent one of these out. I fully intend to keep all of you up-to-date with everything that is going on with our football program on a more frequent basis.
Our first two months have seen many highs and lows. We've experienced everything from adversity to tragedy since we kicked off fall camp back in August, but this group of young men has stuck together throughout all the trials we have faced thus far.
Our staff and players honestly believed we would be off to a better start to our season, but it simply hasn't worked out in our favor. However, there has not been any sign of "quit" by anyone in our program and I believe everyone saw a shining example of that last week when we came from behind in the final minute to beat SMU. This team works hard every week and it was great to finally see them celebrate the fruits of their labor.
As we begin the second half of our season, we are playing all conference games against teams that are very similar to us. I not only expect us to compete in each and every game, but we intend to win. We need to come out in each game and play with a high level of energy and emotion and I believe good things will happen for us. I would like to ask all our fans to please continue to support our young men. They are a great group of guys.
From a personal standpoint, I want to thank everyone who was at the game. I realize the Superdome wasn't full but it sounded like the place was packed during our final drive and when the game ended. It was a great feeling and experience for my first win and our first victory of the season.
Finally, the annual Helluva Hullabaloo Auction and Party is coming up on Friday, Nov. 2 at the Lavin Bernick Center. This is a great cause because it celebrates and benefits our student-athletes with proceeds supporting Tulane Empowers, our collective community outreach initiatives. Angel and I will be there and I hope to see all of you there as well. Click here for more information
