Dec. 28, 1999
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's basketball coach Perry Clark announced that Brandon Brown has been admitted to school for the Spring semester.
Brown, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound, forward from Houma, La., will begin practicing immediately and will be in uniform beginning with the Dec. 29 game with Howard. He signed a National Letter-of-Intent to attend Tulane in April and earned his qualifying test score this fall.
Brown averaged 21.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game for Terrebonne High School last season. As a senior, he led Terrebonne to a 24-10 record under coach David Neal and was a Class 5A second team all-state selection by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Brown also earned first team all-district and all-region honors.
"Brandon is going to help us with his size and rebounding ability," said Clark. His athleticism and activity around the basket will be an asset. He just plays hard."
Brown joins a Green Wave team that has compiled a 8-1 record in 1999-2000. The squad will next be in action on Wed., Dec. 29, as the Wave hosts Howard University in Fogelman Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
