NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's basketball player David Booker was named the Louisiana Player of the Week, it was announced by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association on Monday.

Booker, a junior forward for the Green Wave, scored a career-high 26 points in the lone game of the week, a 73-70 victory at UL-Lafayette last Monday. The Moss Point, Miss., native knocked down nine of his 12 field goal attempts, including hitting six of seven from 3-point range. Booker also collected three steals and blocked a shot in 34 minutes of action against the Ragin' Cajuns.

Booker scored 18 of his game-high 26 in the second half to lead Tulane (4-7) in the come-from-behind win. The Green Wave trailed 33-31 at the break and retook the lead with just inside six minutes remaining in the game. Seven of Booker's points came in the final five minutes to help seal the victory.

The honor is the first for a Tulane men's basketball player this season and the first for Booker in his career with the Green Wave.

Tulane returns to the court Wednesday to host North Carolina A&T at 7 p.m. CST in Fogelman Arena.
