BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Tulane men's basketball team closes out the 2013 calendar year on Saturday when they take on Kansas State at 4 p.m. CT in the Barclay's Center as part of the BROOKLYN HOOPS Winter Festival presented by Honda.
The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 2 and, as with every Green Wave basketball game, can be heard live on the Tulane IMG Sports Network (106.1 FM in the New Orleans area) and on Tulane All-Access at www.tulanegreenwave.com/allaccess.
This will be the second straight season Tulane (7-6) will play in the arena that the NBA's Brooklyn Nets call home. The Green Wave defeated Hofstra, 83-62, on Dec. 22.
Tulane enters the game riding a two-game winning streak after claiming the Westin Holiday Classis with victories over Alabama State and Northeastern last weekend at home in Devlin Fieldhouse. Louis Dabney led the way in the two games by averaging 19.5 points, while Jonathan Stark, the reigning Conference USA Player and Freshman of the Week, posted 16.5 points in the wins.
Kansas State, 8-3, has won six straight games, including a victory over 72-62 victory over Gonzaga.
"Kansas State is a very well coached team that likes to share the basketball and control the tempo of the game," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "We know we will be challenged, but we know this will be a good test of our team at this point in the season. We are coming off a pair of good wins and are looking forward to taking the court on national TV in setting like New York City."
Dabney leads the Green Wave into the game. The sophomore guard is posting 19.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, while Stark, a freshman guard, is adding 17.6 points and 4.3 assists per outing.
Kansas State is led by freshman guard Marcus Foster's 14.4 points and junior forward Thomas Gipson's 12.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Tulane will open the New Year on Jan. 2 when they host Hofstra at 1 p.m. CT in Devlin Fieldhouse.
Tickets for the 2013-14 Tulane men's basketball games are available for as low as $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
