Holmes Leads Green Wave In Victory Over ASU
Aaron Holmes scored a career-high 19 points to lead five Tulane men's basketball players in double figures as the Green Wave defeated Alabama State, 84-69, on Tuesday night in Fogelman Arena.

Tulane (5-6) is looking to get back on track after dropping six of the last seven games, including a 73-62 defeat to the hands of visiting Washington on Tuesday night. Freshman Jonathan Stark led the way for the Green Wave in the loss with a career-high 25 points.

Alabama State enters the weekend having won four of the last five games, including a 59-52 victory over Western Illinois on Monday.

Northeastern, Tulane's Sunday opponent comes into the weekend with a 2-8 overall record and losers of six straight, but the Huskies did defeat nationally ranked Georgetown back on Nov. 21 in Puerto Rico.

"This is business at hand for us with two good opponents in Alabama State and Northeastern," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "Both of these teams will really challenge our guys and they are anxious to get back out there after having some great practices after the Washington game."

The Green Wave are led by a trio of guards. Sophomore Louis Dabney is posting 20.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while Stark, a freshman, is adding 17.8 points and 4.3 assists per outing and junior Jay Hook is scoring 16.8 points and grabbing 6.7 boards per contest.

This will be the sixth meeting between Tulane and Alabama State. The Green Wave won the previous five, including the last one, an 84-69 victory on Nov. 30, 2010 in New Orleans.

Tulane and Northeastern have met two previous times. The Huskies won both, including the last meeting, 79-73, on Jan. 21, 1991 in Boston.

The Green Wave return to action after the holiday break on Dec. 28 when they face Kansas State in Brooklyn's Barclay's Center. The game will tip at 4 p.m. CT and be aired live on Fox Sports 1.
