The Green Wave played its first game at Tulane Gym (now Devlin Fieldhouse) on Dec. 15, 1933. The following photo gallery highlights many of the great men's basketball players and moments in the building's history. By no means meant to be all-inclusive, it is a glimpse of the men's basketball greatness in the gym. Tulane's women's basketball and volleyball teams have also enjoyed much success in the facility.

Phil Hicks (1973-76) is one of three Tulane players to average more than 20 points per game for his career. He had nine games with 30 or more points.

Jim Riffey (1946-50) was the second 1,000-point scorer in Tulane history. He helped the Wave to an 84-23 record during his four-year career.

Tulane Gym was renamed in the late 80s for Tulane alum Avron B. Fogelman, who was one of the key figures in giving the Green Wave a new look home.

Makeba Perry (1991-94) was part of Tulane's nationally-famous "Posse," the five-man substitution group which sparked many a Green Wave victory in the early 1990s.

During the 1990s, Tulane was tough to beat at Fogelman Arena, winning 75 percent of its home games (109-37).

John Sutter (1968-71) earned All-America honors in 1970 after averaging 24.3 points per game to lead the Green Wave; his 558 points that year are the sixth most scored in a single season at Tulane.

Muscular forward Paul Thompson (1979-83) scored 1,851 points in his Green Wave career, leading Tulane to an NIT victory over LSU in 1982.
