Men's Basketball
Devlin Fieldhouse Through the Years

Dec. 19, 2003

The Green Wave played its first game at Tulane Gym (now Devlin Fieldhouse) on Dec. 15, 1933. The following photo gallery highlights many of the great men's basketball players and moments in the building's history. By no means meant to be all-inclusive, it is a glimpse of the men's basketball greatness in the gym. Tulane's women's basketball and volleyball teams have also enjoyed much success in the facility.

With 1,077 points in his Green Wave career, Joe Holston (1978-82) is one of 27 1,000-point scorers for the Green Wave.

John "Hot Rod" Williams (1980-84) registered 1,841 points and 809 rebounds during his Green Wave career.

Kim Lewis (1990-95) is one of the Green Wave players who has keyed over 1,000 victories for Tulane basketball.

Despite winning just four games in 1989-90, Tulane had a thrilling 81-80 upset of No. 20 Memphis State on Jan. 11.

LeVeldro Simmons (1993-96) was a versatile standout for the Green Wave. He scored 1,473 points in his career to rank eighth all-time for the Wave.

Guard G.J Hunter (1989-93) was a key cog in a pair of NCAA Tournament victories for the Wave: over St. John's in 1992 and over Kansas State in 1993.

Al Andrews (1964-67) ranks 13th all-time on the Tulane scoring list with 1,345 points.

Anthony Reed (1989-93) led Tulane in rebounding for four straight years before being drafted in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls.
